08/26...Overvalued worth every penny in Lassie...
Canmor's two-year-old KY-bred filly Overvalued (Forest Grove) gave her sire his first stakes winner from his first crop Thursday evening when the classy miss overwhemed a compact field over 6.5 furlongs in the $50,000 Lassie Stakes at Hastings. Finishing second, some seven lengths behind the winner was the favourite Victory Class (Storm Victory), racing for Doug Clyde, and winner of the BC Cup Debutante, who was another five lengths clear of Hall Racing Stable's third-place finisher Nuj Nuj Wink Wink (Finality). Overvalued took only 1:18.35 to complete the two-turns and returned $5.20 as the second choice. The winner is now undefeated and untested in two starts...(CTHS)
